What really happens when we are under anesthesia? Are our bodies just asleep? And how does our body know its time to wake up?

For surgery, what are the types of anesthesia patients need to know about? What is sedation versus general versus regional? What questions should patients be asking about anesthesia? Is there such a thing as pain free surgery?

What are some of the most common myths out there about anesthesia during surgery? Will I wake up during surgery?

All of these and many more questions answered about Anesthesiology in this podcast episode with Dr. Nate Poulson, MD.
