When Dr. Elaine Davidson sees a patient with depression, she can walk down the hall and introduce them to Maria Torres for treatment. Torres is a licensed clinical social worker who treats patients referred by Saltzer Health primary care providers. In this episode, Dr. Davidson and Torres talk about the new Primary Care Behavioral Health Integration program at Saltzer Health. They believe that providing services in a quick, seamless process will help improve outcomes for patients with depression, suicidal ideation and other behavioral health challenges. Dr. Davidson and Torres work collaboratively using the same medical record so they can track a patient’s progress with mind and body. They say that patients are “amazed and grateful” to receive this level of care so close to home.
